About The Book and The Author

Little Asha's Adventure: A Girl's Journal of Malaysia

The Book
Little Asha and her parents are going to the beautiful tropical country of Malaysia to visit her grandma and grandpa. Through its illustrations and the stories behind it, this book will expose little readers, and their parents, to the kind of adventures and experiences they will have when visiting another country with different culture. The friendly people, the delicious food and mouthwatering fruits, the colorful clothing, the warm sunny beaches and the festivals are all worth exploring.
The Author
The author was born and raised in Malaysia, a beautiful tropical country in Southeast Asia. A graduate of University of Missouri in Kansas City, she lives in Boone, North Carolina with her daughter and her husband, Dr. Brad Batchelor. Upon returning from a vacation in Malaysia with her family, she was inspired to write a children's book about her little girl's experiences there. Realizing that children learn other cultures and groups different from them through the internet, media sources, the school and even from their own neighborhoods, this book was written by her to educate young readers about the rich culture of an Asian country like Malaysia. She believes that by exposing children to people of different cultures, they will be better prepared to function in the diverse global society that they live in.

Little Asha has enjoyed her visit to Malaysia and so will you!
